hai,
I need a CF card reader that will fit in my expresscard slot in my unibody MBP. I would prefer it to be expresscard as all my USB and FW ports are taken up. I want it to be able to read CF UDMA.
thx in advance,
Marek

The only one I've had experience with (that was worth the $$$) is this one (link (http://www.apiotek.com/Global/Product/Add-on_Card/EC-CF3Q.htm)). It was fickle, crashed my MBP and Mac Pro a few times if I tried to import directly from FCP, otherwise it worked fine. I ended up sending it back. I looked but couldn't find a vendor that sells it but I remember it wasn't cheap.
You know you can chain FW? It isn't as fast by a long shot, but it works every time.

I recently tried and returned this ADAPTER (http://www.amazon.com/Syba-SD-EXP60002-Express-Compact-Adapter/dp/B002HFGHMG/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top) from amazon. Kernal panics like crazy. I'm looking for the same thing and I'm wondering if I'll ever find something.
I'm now waiting on this one from Other World Computing...

I found 3 at OWC (http://eshop.macsales.com/Search/Search.cfm?Ntk=Primary&Ns=P_Popularity%7c1&Ne=5000&N=7106&Ntt=express+card). The Sonnet is a dual slot - but new drivers are in testing.

In my experience, Syba products are generally about one dust particle better than worthless!

I'll certainly second that after my experience!

I settled on this one last week. Delkin Firewire Reader (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/550535-REG/Delkin_Devices_DDREADER_39_Reader_39_CompactFlash_ Reader.html)
Same chipset as the Sandisk Extreme firewire and the Hoodman FW800 readers. It's FAST! Integrated cord just like the Hoodman with a FW800/FW400 adapter. I highly recommend it.
