Jan. 23 a very experienced and widely popular figure model will visit my studio. I will be offering instructional sessions with this model all day if there is sufficient interest. I have worked with her in my studio before and she is superb.
We will offer 2-hour work/study sessions limited to 5 photographers per session. Cost will be $60 for a 2-hour work session. There will be many different lighting setups and shooting angles with running commentary on the technical information.
Please call me if you are interested. 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. is available for sure. 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. may be available if there is enough interest.
For those with serious interest I will gladly send links to the model's website. I understand and appreciate that many of the folks in this meetup group have no interest in the figure. There are no images or links in this message, therefore.
Please let me hear from you ASAP if you are interested. Email is best.
Thanks,
Len Cook

Hello Len,
Saw your group on MeetUp, I think I'm a member. Didn't know you had an open studio and I've been interested to try out multiple lighting in a studio. Good to hear you're local too!

Announcing a new Meetup for Fremont Digital Photo Freeschool!
What: Exposure: What YOU want vs. what the CAMERA wants
When: Thursday, February 4, 2010 7:00 PM
Where:

You have a high-tech camera that produces perfectly exposed pictures every shot. Well, ALMOST every shot. What about those other times?
* Is there anything you can do to PREVENT improper exposure?
* How can you tell when the exposure is what YOU want?
* What is "exposure compensation" and how can you use it?
In this meeting we will discuss exposure basics, try to discover just what your camera is telling you about exposures, and how to "read" a scene for exposure clues before missing an important one-chance-only photo.
