I'm looking to buy a Hoya neutral density filter for my A75.
Please advise what I should get.... X2 - X4 or X8.
What is the advice of the learned members.

It depends on what you want to do with it?
I have an ND4 filter on my A80 which cuts down about 2stops. Its useful for long exposures in low light, i.e. sunrise and sunset. It allows me to get down to about 1/100th-1/250th of a second at F8 in bright light for panning shots of moving subjects, and in really bright light it lets the camera work at F7.1 and F6.3 with a slower shutter speed which seems to allow the sensor to develop a better dynamic range, and gives IMO better exposures.
As a general rule, I would get the darkest one you can find, as it will allow you to simulate stoppin g down below F8 in terms of exposure, something that is quite limiting IMO on the A series, and compacts in general.

Thanks for that. just the info I needed.
Great news about Michael Campbell's win in the US Open Golf. If an Aussie couldn't win it a Kiwi is the next best thing.

What would a Parizing filter do?
I use this filter to stop down for waterfalls. But I think I will try a ND filter. What is the highest number when it comes to ND filters?
