Here are a few pics from my first outting to an autocross. I found out that I need some practice holding the damn camera steady. I shot primarily on Tv at 125th most of the day. Sun was out so aperture was stopped down a bit leaving the BGs fairly clear. All shots with a 10D and 70-200 f4. I'm sure most of these are too soft for most here, and some were flat out lousy. I'm workin on it! Please give any suggestions, especially comments on how i may crop these better. Thanks.

Nice shots, love the wheel lift on the Porsche. You get some nice hardware out for your events.

I haven't had a chance to get out to any Autocrosses with my setup yet, just to the track where I'm quickly learning how hard it is to get good full zoom action shots in with a long lens.

I think those are pretty darned good. :) Next time, you should try to get a few pics of rear wheel lift from the front wheel drive cars (like GTI's, or Honda Civics). They look like they need a fire hydrant.

-edit-
I especially like the picture of the Mustang. You can really see the guy working the wheel.

Thanks guys. These are about the best shots I got out of 170 or so. There are others that are nice, but not quite as exciting or clear.

That Mustang doesn't have power steering either, so he really was working that wheel! It was the loudest car there, my friend that races mentioned that it had a big block in it. Very nice ride!
