I shot this for a friend, she wanted my wife and I to enjoy the wedding so i didn't shoot the whole thing just the getting-ready time and a few shots here and there.

Please tell me what you think because I am to shoot a wedding in late February. All shot with canon 20D and 50mm f/1.8 mkii mostly at f/1.8 or f/2.0

Over 100 views not 1 comment, is that good or bad?

well, around here... good. LOL. you're lucky to get 1 in 200 views.

I like 2, 3, 4 and 6.

1 is out of focus. 5, the processing is just not for me. 7 is a nice crisp shot. 8 is over exposed, not level and her dress is cut out of the picture.

As a whole pretty decent. Some creative shots. The ones I don't like are:

1 - Her face is out of focus, but her face is the focus of the composition, so I wouldn't consider it a keeper.

5 - The processing on this looks off. Colors are funky, she looks quite orange and it has a bit too much blurry vignetting.

8 - Looks really flashy.

Honestly, getting ready is often the easiest part of the wedding.. Things are moving fairly slowly, especially when it comes to the fact the bride is sitting down. Have you second shot a full wedding before?

Thanks for the comments, it's one of those things unless i ask other photographers I never get any better. If you ask people without a key eye for photos then anything that is not a snapshot is "awesome".

Thanks again keep them coming, for the future comments tell me something that hasn't been said.

That's funny, when I first saw 5, funky was the word that came to my mind, too. And I'm not sure whether or not it's funky good or funky bad. I'd be curious to hear how you processed this.

Number 5 really does have anything done to it, slight sharpness adjustment (to the negative) and slight vingette, but this salon was wild with light. Had some great windows and reflected light fairly well. most of all this girl has a neat red hair color and light skin - the lipstick is SUPER bright red - i told her with a poka-dot dress she would make a great 1940's pin up.

But other than those couple things not much was done on the pic - she also had the most exciting drama queen expressions. She was the maid of honor and this pic was us finding out no one had a clue where the flower for the brides hair was.

These are great. I agree about #1 being out of focus... or a little soft. #5 looks like something out of the 50s. Thanks for sharing,.

I would like to see #6 in color verses the sepia processing to see how they compare, the other photos are all nice...and like everyone else said, #1 is too out of focus.

1 is out of focus
5 is good, I think her hair is what helps to make her skin tone look more orange
would have been nice if you had gotten the final hair style

would it make you sad to know that was her final hair style?
