This formation is along Highway 127 between Baker, CA and Shoshone, CA. Everytime my family and I drive past it, someone says "Where's the camera?" This last time, I was ready.

We call it The Citadel for lack of a more formal name because it reminds us of an old weathered fort.

The picture came out fairly over-exposed. I'd had my 20D set for +2/3, and it just about was useless, until a nice little dose of Curves... (the roads really were that black---thanks to CalTrans  Spent 45 minutes scrubbing oil specs off of my wife's van...)

Seems slightly washed out, but a great pic never-the-less. Maybe try increasing the saturation?

It's definitely a good composition. One could say it's overexposed, and it is. That could be fixed if you want to make it look more "normal". However, art is not always normal, so if you like the way this presents your subject, leave it alone. I kinda like it this way.

I agree with sparker1. If you like it then who cares.

I guess it's still a bit over-exposed (if you'd seen the original, this is a vast improvement). In looking at it on an LCD at work, it's still a bit too light. Note to self: check monitor calibration

Lesson learned: check camera to insure that you don't have it set to +2/3

Thanks for the input. Methinks I'll tweak and repost later tonight...
