Sitting here with nothing in particular to do my mind started wandering as it so often does.I thought if I use the 52 to 58 reversing ring to stack a bunch of close up lens 4 on each side of the adapter and then mount them on the 50mm lens what would be the resultant image? I didn't know if I could even get it to focus. This would be a total of 34 diopters that were 60mm in length,to my surprise I could bring a portion of a 25 cent piece into focus hanging on the end of the 50mm lens.It only gave me about 5 or 6 mm of working distance so lighting was a problem as I don't have outboard flash and would be working in a light box.

I cranked the ISO up to 1600,,,,,,,,,,,,the rest of the numbers are,f14 &
SS1/3

The original image was from mid forehead to mid chin,I cropped it down to this posted size to make a comparison to another image. This is old George Washington's nose from a quarter.

I tried the same stack reversed on a 18-55 and could not get a focus in the 50mm focal length,I thought that was odd, maybe it was just me or the reversed stack may have affected it.I took the 52mm stack off the setup leaving 17 diopters and was able to get a focus at a focal length of 24mm and a working distance of 52mm and the complete coin came into view,

I noticed in both photos you have very low shutter speed while very high fstop. I wouldn't find that to be a problem, except flash was not fired in either of these photos either. They could be sharper if you tried them with a flash I think.

did you read the text?It only gave me about 5 or 6 mm of working distance so lighting was a problem as I don't have outboard flash and would be working in a light box.
