Spent the weekend at Mallory, it was our Lotus Cortina National show and also some good racing on the Sunday including Pick up Trucks, BMW's and many Classics.

I decided not to take my Lotus on the circuit but to photograph our Club Members cars on the track instead, Mallory are great they allow us to do some laps during the lunch break from the racing.
unlike some parts of the country we had a heatwave.

hope you enjoy some of my images.

Pink is the perfect colour for an MGF!!!!

Some very nice shots of the Lotus Cortina's, or though I hope that wasn't a genuine one which has had its top cut off :(

Im impressed there are enough in the UK to form your own club, they are a very rare car here, most of the owners belong to Club Lotus, along with about 100 odd Lotus owners, of the maybe 250 Lotus cars now in the country.

Thanks for the comments.
the LC with the top cut off is a Genuine car so few of these were built. they are called
Crayford Lotus Cortina, that being the company who did original conversions back in the 60's and 70's.
I have owned a Mk 1 LC since 1972 thats where my interest in classic motorsport comes from.

I used to tow my Mini Cooper rally car with a Lotus Cortina. Both are now saught after classics but back then they were unreliable, rust prone and I was glad to get rid of both. In hindsight.......

Ken
It sounds like your interest in motor sport goes back a long way.
I always think its an advantage to know the sport your photographing, sounds like you did a bit of
competition driving.

We don't see many Lotus Cortina's pulling much these days, our cars are fun to drive and were some of the fastest cars on the tracks in the 60s, the circuit racers today are even quicker. and good entertainment to watch and photograph.
Cheers
