View Full Version : Story book - Birth to 1 Year - Need advice please

hi all,

I'm trying to do story book layouts for a book I would like to do for my daughter.

I have come up with the following so far, what do you think and how can i improve???

The book is an A4 Landscape and the pages are std A4 with a 3mm bleed.

1. Cover page

So i'm trying to do this all in photoshop and well don't really have a clue what i'm doing, what do you think of the ones i've done so far... how can i make it really WOW THATS FREAKING AWESOME in photoshop.

it looks like when you are inserting the photos, you are not keeping them proportional. Looks like you are distorting them. Make sure when you insert the photos you check the little link image between the percentages when you transform the layers, that will keep them from distorting. As for the design, honestly, I'm not a huge fan. I think the font and background images are a little cheesy. Have you looked online for any layouts or anything? Two peas in a bucket (http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/shop/digital-kits-and-fonts//) has tons of really cute digital downloads. If you are not going to use them for clients you can just get the regular files, and they have great pricing! Just a suggestion to make things easier for you, since you say you don't know what you are doing in photoshop. HTH :)
