I cannot believe my little 3lb guy is now turning 3!! I haven't done a session of him since last Spring, (besides our family session in Nov) so I was really looking forward to it! I had it all planned out in my mind, and pretty much already had everything I needed, so I was just waiting for a good morning. Yesterday he woke up in such a great mood, so I got everything all set up and we played and snapped away! Let me know what you think!

Great shots - contemporary and classical at the same time, and full of fun. He's so gorgeous too!

You are one of my favorite photographers on POTN. I like the style you put into all of your sets.

I did notice that the skin tone is a little different from picture to picture in this one. Did you use different light modifiers? Or maybe different color temps? I have the same problem with my little guy and I can't seem to get a handle on it. My little one looks like he has the same complexion as yours so I was hoping you are going to tell me the lighting is the same as is the color temps :)

Awesome! What a fun play time you had with him. I can't believe how fast he is growing...

Love your choice of color for the BG and of course a big fan of the rug. I have a small one like that, but really need a large size like you have here. :)

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks everyone!
Mercer, I love hearing about other preemies that are doing great! I am even doing a huge NICU charity project for a local hospital, and it is so near and dear to my heart :)

Wow Sam, thank you so much! And oh man, the color temp on these pics has been the hardest! haha Other than that I was in and out of photoshop :) I was using natural light from 2 windows and the sun kept going in and out behind clouds changing the temp, so that made it really hard. I also started out using the flash, but the battery in my ST-E2 quit, so with a 2yr old it was easier to change my settings real quick on camera and just keep shooting without the flash, so that changed the temp too. In RAW I just pulled them all in together and used my eyes. When I was done editing I noticed a few too that were too red. I could only really notice when I put them side by side, so I'll probably just leave it where it's at now. Might go through them before I print though :)
I am going to post an editing bit with these pics on flickr today or tomorrow, so you can check that out if you want to also!
Thanks again!

Quick tip - that is actually a piece of fabric from JoAnn's, that way it's really big and super super cheap!

oooooohhh.... good tip! Thanks... :) I pick up fabric pieces every so often.. never thought to do that for the rug.... :D I think our JoAnn's always has bolts of fur and different textures on sale at the back of the store.. . I think that's on my to-do list for this week... :)

These are so great.. I love your style! The fabric is a great idea I've often seen them at the fabric store and wondered how they would turn out. Now I know. And your little peanut is so cute! I love the one where he is pulling up the fabric and laughing.
