Am I boring everyone with my pics from the wildlife park yet?

The Black Swans were beautiful, very tame. We were able to hand feed them :)

Not at all !Nice shots. Are they still common on the Swan River?.

You see them, yes but not like it use to be. Our river is badly in need of repair. Too much pollution, deadly green algae blooms from over fertilization, fishing lines harming the birds, amongst other litter. It's all very sad. I only live 10 minutes from the river, it's a beautiful place, hopefully industry and people will wake up one day. The swans are still there though. More upriver from where I live :)

You occasionally see one or two around here, more so around the swampy country near Newacstle. I'll have to go and see if I can get close enough tot hem to get a photo, but don't think they'll let me get anywhere near as close as those :-)

Couldn't resist posting a White Swan from the other side of the world ... taken yesterday and one of a batch of test shots taken with my Sigma 1.4x TCon and 100-300mm f4. Some sharpness lost with the TCon but I think still a keeper!

The Black Swans where pretty much the first birds I saw when I arrived in Perth on a visit. They obviously looked pretty weird to an English guy used to the white variety! Unfortunately, I always remember the cruddy hotel (guide book recommended!!!) we stayed in the night before every time I see them

Thanks :D

The Swan was in perfect position and I WISH I'd had the TCon off to grab that extra sharpness and dynamics, but hey ... sometimes the extra 120mm it provides comes in handy too!

I am just getting used to this lens (which is a beauty!) AND also trying to wean myself onto full manual operation; slowly gone from green box fully auto to almost full manual most of the time! Doing lots of testing at Longleat which is a huge stately home and Safari Park near where I live. I am ALSO trying out MF and AF and find that the MF, which is very nice and easy with this lens, grabs a tiny tad of extra sharpness over longer distances, more often than not, tho' a somewhat unscientific testing process
