All comments welcome!!!! I was having troubles nailing the focus but had a lot of fun otherwise. Used a black bath towel as a background, stopped down to black it out fully. One Sigma 530DG super snooted camera left at 45 degrees, 1/2 power.

The only real post done was to the first image which was inverted and sharpened a little. All the black ones only had black point adjustments to really blacken the background, other than that they are as shot.

Love the patterns and unusually for me, I like them all.

thanks corkneyfonz!

if anyone has any tips on nailing the focus i'd be greatly in your debt. i attempted to shine a very bright light on the smoke so that AF could pick it up but it seemed to always get the background. i wound up focusing on the tip of the inscent and then turning AF off and raising the camera slightly to grab the photo. it wound up, from whay my newb eyes can tell, putting the bottom of the smoke in focus, the top was oof a bit. manual focus doesn't seem very possible as you can barely see the smoke against a black background. ideas??
