I just bought my new REBEL XT350. I would like to buy new lenses. All I have is the 18-55mm that came with the camera. Which lenses would you guys recommended?
Thank you,
Ange:)

Look at the gear in my sig. After some research, I sold all of my old stuff from my film SLR days and bought this instead.

Welcome to forum...First off some people get offended if people type in all CAPITALS or bold, does not bother me but I thaught I would let you know.
What is your budget? If I had to do it all over again and it was not that long ago I would not get the kit lense and get the Tamron 28-75 and the 70-200 f/4 to start.
These are two very sharp lenses. If you like sharp pictures don't make the mistake of buying cheap glass. There is lots of great help on this forum and my knowledge is very limited. There is a Sticky under the lense section of the forum for lense recommendations.
Best of luck

Since you have the WA with the kit lens, I would 2nd the recommendation on the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 and a 70-200 series lens. The Tamron is around $360, Canon 70-200 f4L around $560, Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX DG about $840 (US warranty), Canon 70-200 f2.8L about $1150, and Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS about $1600. The Sigma is a good value for a very good lens but Sigma has chip compatibility issues as new camera bodies are introduced.

Hi Ange!
If those kind of prices are abit scary there are good decent choices for alot less-especially for longer zooms.
Unfortunately there aren't many intermediate wide zooms around as yet-only the cheapo stuff like the 18-55 kit lens and then a big jump to the pro or semi pro zooms.

That did occur in the past and we don't know if it will occur in the future!
As to lens choice, you need to say what kind of shooting you like to do most and give a broad indication of budget. The recommendation so far are very sound ... but not if you shoot Macro or wildlife

I would like to hear what you shoot as well....there are alot of possibilities for different kinds of photography. I shoot mainly wildlife and aviation images.......so on the long end (if you have the money) 70-200 f4L (or 2.8 and possibly a 1.4X TC), or the 100-400 IS. A cheaper alternative for zoom to get you started is the 75-300 (I have seen some good results with good lighting on a 350)
Good Luck
