i went out and bought a pano setup for my trip to colorado and this was the only pano i managed to try...

11 images shot in portrait with my 20d @ 40mm. final image ended up working out to be like 44.6 megapixels and it covered about 110 degrees field of view.

Rocky Mountain National Park

here are some 100% crops:

the crops are taken from the far left and right side of the image. if u look close in the main image u can see the little areas that these came from..

the spliced image on the far left side didnt blend very well as far as the sky tones are concerned but oh well. live and learn i guess.

im very anxious to get out and shoot again...

It's beautiful, and most people wouldn't notice the sky issue.

thanks guys... heres info on the bracket i used

i think the nodal ninja was definitely work it... it was a little over $100...

the RRS version is about $405 in order to rotate along both axis. ouch

i have RRS plates and ballhead etc and still opted for the nodal ninja as an inexpensive alternative...

i also shot with the vertical grip attached to my camera. the guys at nodal ninja said it wouldnt work weight and geometry wise but i rigged it to work. i had to invert the horizontal arm in order to give me the length i needed in order to line the center of the lens up with the rotation point.

nodal ninja is releasing a new version very soon so im curious to see how that looks. whats cool is that they offer an upgrade kit to first generation owners so ill be looking for it.

i bought a Kaidan 3 point leveler at a camera shop in boulder. it was on sale for $59 i think and u can tell its been there for awhile... it came in VERY handy. its not picutred in the above pics but heres one below.

Nice pano, Abel. I was at Sprauge Lake in Colo. the week of June 10-17. It was an awesome time. There was too much bright sunshine most days and many of my pics ended up with lots of shadows. But it sure was a great vacation.

thanks guys...

richard, we spent like 12 days in colorado and estes park and RMNP were definitely our favorite place... we flew into denver (from houston, tx) and racked up 1300+ miles on our rental during our trip

we had a great time

Great pano.
Great detail.
And thanks for the great info.
I like to see that, and the shots of the bracket help a lot.
