Same picture, original and B&W conversion. 450D w/ kit lens, just got it Thursday, Merry Xmas to me.

The b/w works for me a LOT better, it adds a certain something that the color doesn't have.
For me, the shadows are too dark on the bridge, the trees looks fine that way though.
It's like two completely different shots. :)

I really like the b/w though, good job on that.

I have to agree, the B&W is much better.

recrisp- yeah, when I got the bridge how I liked it the trees were blown out so I went with the darker. I suppose I could spend a boatload of time making layers and adjusting each separately but this was a quickie.

For a quickie, it works fine!
If I worked all of my photos, or even a 10th of 'em, I'd be doing it the rest of my life, so I sure understand. heh

B&W for sure because of the contrast. The color one lacks that pop in color.
