My first try at surf photography

Hi , this is my first try at surf photography . I was a bit far and needed a bit of more reach , but I forgot to bring my extenders :oops: . Those are random shots from people just enjoying themselves , they aren't pros and this wasn't a competition :) I just wanted to give it a shot , hehe . I hope you'll enjoy them .

I really like the 1st shot. It's a great PoV, you can see where he's headed down the line (and it looks like it's going to be a super fun wave), he's at a fairly critical point on the wave (just lining up the wave, you can imagine the line he's going to take and just mind surf it) and the exposure is good.

Only changes I would make would be to crop in a little from the left and remove the spray in front of the surfer. Otherwise a great job from your first attempt :)

I don't do much surf shots but I have been to Tahiti and a few of the outer islands Tahaa,Raiatea,Huahine Morea, and Bora Bora. this would be an awsome place to call home, very beautiful and thanks for sharing.
I belive you are the first person that I have ever seen on here from that region. Please share more when you get the chance. Maybe some street shots at night in Papeete at "Les 3 Brasserurs" spent a few evenings in there waiting for our flight out after getting tattoo'd at Jorde's. Throw back a few Hinano for me!

Wow , thank you guys for the kind comments :)
Next time I'll bring the 500 f/4 , I needed more reach ( I used a 300 f/2.8 and forgot my TCs ) , I hope the waves will be good next week end :)

J.Napier : Hehe that's nice ;) The 3 Brasseurs brew a great beer , if you tasted it and the Hinano is a great one also :D ( but life is expensive in here though :( )
