On my first (and maybe last) paid (haven't been paid yet) assignment, I was shooting JPEG medium as the "employer's" computer was old and slow and he was doing no post processing, just printing them up and selling them like hotcakes to parents of 12-15 year old female softball players during a tournament.

As I only shoot raw, I couldn't find where in my menu I could up the sharpening, etc, for jpegs. I have the 1DSMKII.

Also, I am pressing I believe the second button from the bottom (maybe the bottom-most button) and turning the dials but am unable to switch between cards.

Any help is appreciated.

thanks

I have the MII, but I think the controls and layout are pretty much the same ....

For sharpening controls, go to "Parameters" in the "Record" menu section. You'll probably have to set up a custom parameter set and up the sharpening level there.

Don't forget that to actually select something on these cameras, you have to press and hold the select button while you turn the dials to your selection. Then release the button to enable your selection.

Hope that helps ...

It's beyond my imagination how someone who paid 8000 for a piece of equipment dosen't know how to use it.

Hey, Jerry, it's beyond my imagination why people who have nothing productive to do choose to post replies that insult. Is that necessary?

How much did you pay for your car, Jerry? I hope more than $8,000. Did you know every feature on it as soon as you got it, or did you rely on the salesperson to explain its features to you? And then did you perhaps consult the manual, or ask someone who owns a similar model? I just purchased a new automobile with a very sophisticated navigation system. I'm still learning it. By your illogic, I had no business buying it because I don't know how to fully use it.

Isn't that ridiculous?

Maybe $8,000 to me is like $80 to you.

As my mother would tell you, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

...don't say anything at all.

OK, .... more importantly .....

One thing you didn't address in your post was whether or not you got the sharpening levels "up" and if you were able to switch between cards ....

Did that go OK ??

Cecil, sorry. I shouldn't have stooped to his level, I should have just ignored him.

I worked until midnight last evening and tonight I have my daughter's middle school graduation. I'm going to take the camera, of course, but I'll be shooting raw. I will do as you said, though, as soon as I get a chance and update the thread.

thanks again, cecil
