I've been at this post processing for some months now and I need a reality check. Am I still on the right track? or is the train about to de-rail :) Advise please.

haha, I love the text with your post - too funny!
I do think this is overdone. With babies I have found the less the better, but that is personal to my taste too, some people do like a lot of pp. I just think this one is done too much though.

Thanks Jeni. I recall a children's story I used to listen to on the radio when I was young. In that story there was a line, and I quote "right front wheel", "right front wheel" lol I think the train is coming off the track.

I think that some people have more realistic expectations of what a photo should look like and others have an extreme imagination. While I think you photo falls between the two options that is beside the point. The main question here is, do you think you over did it or do you like it?
If you like it then do not let others cramp your style by telling you otherwise.
Cool shot.

Thank you for your comments. I personally did not think I over did this. I feel it makes the photo more interesting and gives it more punch. I kinda got bored with the plain and original baby shots. I love the feedback because it provides a broader picture of style appreciation for public perception.

I think it is different which is nice, but i do think it would look better without the selective color....i am typically a fan of it, but on just the eyes it always comes off a little creepy to me lol....but that is just my opinion...one thing I learned is that it depends on what YOU like, or if you are shooting for someone else, what THEY like....
