I was just passing by this place today (in between mountains) and saw the lads posing for a photograph at a wedding
I took a quick shot
then they all walked up the path heading into the hotel
I was a fair distance away and took another shot as I was moving off....

suddenly the girl leaped onto the fellow (#3 shot ) http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif and I couldn't get it in the camera quick enough as I was not that near them at this stage
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif
and it was all over in a flash
had to be thankful I got anything
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

some of her arm is missing and the picture is also blurred
but let's call it 'hazy soft focus and romantic ' http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

I didn't want to crop off the stone at the bottom of the picture as it would shorten her arm even more, just left everything as it was
as it's not perfect anyway who really careshttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I was not 'the photographer at the wedding '
thank goodness

hope they all have a good evening
the wedding is probably still in full fling

Many thanks Frank, Bruce, Sandy, Dan and Witchy

http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

she just suddenly jumped Bruce, that must be what is meant by 'taking the big jump' http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

it was funny to watch and then they were gone into the hotel
I think she was thanking him for holding the flowers
maybe he was giving them to her for the first time

not sure the men were Irish as I heard French being spoken a lot
but Dublin accents by the ladies.
didn't like to ask and get noticed being there at all
as it was only for a few minutes

Sandy, the lady taking the shot in the first picture has the canon strap http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif
glad you like his hair Witchy

the lakes and mountains are very close by (it's right in between the mountains )

a few minutes before I met a few of the guests climbing over old stone walls in their kilts, in the 4th century graveyard.
could hear the laughter echoing all over the place

Well, Marie,

nice catch of the juicy country life in your heck of the world ... That definitely is a very nice way to thank the guy for holding the flowers

Now I know why the traditional Scotch (do you use that for people as well  ) guys are wearing that belt pouch thingy ... considering that they are not supposed to wear much beneath their kilt. Helps them to stay cool in such situations.

I am not really sure that your efforts went totally unnoticed, given that your camera was in flash mode

Best regards,
Andy

What's the difference between a kilt and a skirt? If a guy wore that here in the States he'd probably get "jumped" too!!

thanks Richard

kilt :
' a knee - length pleated tartan skirt worn my men in highland dress and by women and girls'
'kilt means 'to put pleats in cloths'

skirt :
'a woman's or girl's garment hanging from the waist'

nobody wears kilts over here

http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif
I guess school girl's skirts can be called kilts
but we never do call them that ..mostly just 'tartan shirts'
skirts like this >

http://www.pbase.com/image/34186492/original

the people in the wedding group who were wearing them seemed to be speaking French
so it's a bit of a puzzle
perhaps they were French/Scottish guests attending the wedding

(some) Scottish men wear kilts
as far as I know different clans have different patterns and colours in the material, which tell which clan they are attached to
like the Mcdonnells or the Campbells
but I risk being wrong in how I spelt the names and what I say
(gulp)

I liked the shots. You never know what you will see, so it's good to have your camera ready.
