So I managed to catch the perfect moment with my kiddo in bed yesterday... but I still had my camera on incandescent WB from working on some macro stuff in the kitchen, and the room was lit w/ natural light and a ceiling-bounced flash

So these are my two attempts at fixing it... the original is clearly blue. I am working on an uncalibrated monitor (so far) so any advice on which of these is closer to a natural look, and how to correct would be best. I tried the eyedropper in Adobe Camera Raw, but there's no real true white in the shot to go from!

CC on other aspects beyond the WB are welcome! Settings on this shot are f/4.0, 1/60s, ISO100

This may look to dark if your monitor is uncalibrated. It is close to your second edit. The only other comment is that that parts of the blanket closest to the camera appear to be the sharpest. It would be better if the eyes. I tried to sharpen and lighten the eyes a bit.

Thanks Rob! That looks great. I hadn't gotten to the eyes yet. You are right on the focus, I snapped quickly because moments with her are fleeting... she was actually rolling around like a maniac, but you'd never guess from the photo!

May I ask what you did to adjust the colour? I am still learning Photoshop, so I would love any tips you have.

Cutie little one, I thought about going B&W with this one, simply because of so many hues competing...alot of yellows and reds etc....agree with RW, the eyes have to be the focus..but I think you will have many moments to capture!

Just used correct for skin tone. Here is the work flow.

How did I not know about that? D'oh! You are a lifesaver, and you have just taught me more than my whole 6-week Photoshop class did.

Oh, that's nice Flo! Thank you! I will play with B&W a little as well. :)
