I'm going to the show this weekend. I recall from previous visits that the lighting can make photography a liitle tricky especillaly with the WB. Has anybody got any tips/ideas?
Many thanks

Shoot RAW and correct the WB later.

Page 65 of the 30D's instruction book (http://files.canon-europe.com/files/soft29398/manual/H53_HG_EN_Flat.pdf) should have instructions on setting a custom white balance.

Thanks for your advice guys I think RAW is probably the only way to go on this one. I remember last year the differant stands all had differant lighting arrangements, so there is no easy fix.
Anybody else going?

Custom WB is pointless in this case i'm afraid.

Well I wouldn't say that as it will allow you to get a very accurate white balance for an individual shot. The problem is that every stand is lit differently and you have to re-do the custom white balance for each one. With several hundred stands this ends up becoming an incredibly tedious and time consuming procedure.
I've used a Kelvin colour temperature meter there in the past with some success but the other CWB techniques just take too long.
If you do go one of the public days be sure to take a monopod. Not to support your cameras but to beat a path through the tens of thousands of chavs looking for some underlighters or blue LED washer jets; "wicked, init?"

It's just too far to travel given the current weather conditions.
