I've been lucky enough to land a contract with a Ecological Zoo in northern Quebec that allows me to get right inside the compounds with the larger animals (handler in presence) I was there today getting a good look at the 3 polar bears that they raised from cubs. They are definitely larger than cubs now but still play like them. The red thing in the background is a "chewy toy".
This is Inukshuk. Big brother to Frimas and Aquak.

Now that's a special picture ! A bit of a shame about the distracting 'chewy toy' , but a dazzling shot all the same.

Hmmmmm, that is one question I never asked. I'll admit that Inukshuk was giving me a weird look, like "Geez, you look good enough to eat".
*Note to self. Make sure that you can run faster than the handler.*

Cool! So, there IS a polar bear in Canada!?!? And it ain't blue, either.

BTW, very nice picture. Did you get wet at all? ;)

P.S. I can't help wondering why the chewy toy is flesh colored. What if one day, these big white teddy bears decide that you might make a nice chewy toy, too.

That's such a great photo!

I love how the water fills the frame!

All he was thinking was:

"If this guy thinks that he is going to get a kiss and a hug from me, he's got another thing coming......"

Great shot Ian.

Love your posts.
