Those are a riot, Sandy. In my travels, those kinds of sculptures are all around the country. However, I always find them fascinating . The sculptors are amazing artists, in my view.

Thank you so much Marie for your comments, Stan thank you also. The artist in this case is a local contractor, who has found a great use for his old collection of construction equipment and parts. Yes he is very talented and imaginative. Course some of his sculptures get a little political in that he will poke fun of the local government. The Town used to have a mosquito spraying program that they stopped, well about a week later this huge mosquito sculpture appeard at the entrance to the town hall.   The Town still has it on display

Love the mosquito spraying story. Sometimes art can be the most persuasive political statement.

I love this art form. Good pictures. Since it is a form of expression it's great to see the artist using it to express his political/social concerns too. That lovely patina is no doubt the result of high water content in your air?

that's a beauty.
imagine going for a swim:lol:

the 'artist' must really enjoy doing this

must tell my brother what he can do with a lot of stuff he has collected
no joking , he would probably enjoy it
(if the 'gift' catches on)

when was this fellow taken from the the water's side and moved to the town hall?

I could be wrong but was this giant mosquito on the forum a long time ago ? maybe it was his brother:lol:

it's a lovely photo Sandy
(and reflection)

thanks

the mosquito was first placed at the Town hall entrance, came in on one of his construction trailers in the dead of night, I think the local police helped him.  Stayed there for awhile and then at the request of the Town he helped move it on to the little island in this Town owned pond. It's been there now for close to 8 years.
