everything, absolutely everything about these can not be beat. Mood, PP, contrast, composition. I remember the day of the explosion. I was in heaven on earth, whilst they were in living hell.

Do you experience a different emotion with each visit? I mean, is it like seeing a movie a second time, where you get something different out of it.

I went to your website and spent a very long time on there. I had never heard of this event. Your photos are amazing. Your videos were very interesting but gave me motion sickness lol I would love to see this place in person as well as many of the other places you have seen and been

Arek,
The detail you have gone to in describing your visits on your website is nothing short of outstanding.
Any images from Chernobyl are always striking.
These of yours are particularly haunting.
Thanks for posting these - there are not enough superlatives to describe how good these images are.
I look forward to seeing more from your next visit.

A superbly documented/visual history of a terrible disaster.

I already commented on the photos, but now that I've read through the accounts of your visit on your site, I feel the need to comment on that, as well.
Again, that you so much for sharing this with us! I live in the US and was in junior high when this tragedy happened. It is positively fascinating to me to see this now, and hear what the conditions are today.
So let me say, without any irony whatsoever, that I truly believe this account to be bw!. You mention that you are planning to do a film on this; will it be available internationally?
Thanks again!

These shots are simply amazing...I have seen several photos of Pripyat photos, but these take the cake...especially the one with the Ferris wheel framed by the window frames...breathtaking!
Keep up the great work, looking forward for more shots

These are GREAT Arek! Thanks for posting, but what a disaster that was.
In case you are interested, heres a link to a girl that has been documenting that area for years now. Her transportation is a Kawasaki Ninja. ;)

She has photos, history, etc. and I've got to say is a very interesting read. :)

It is not a true story. It's fake. Search in Google "elena filatova fake"

Interesting, and thanks for the heads up.
Apparently there are people that both believe, and disbelieve her story, as you can see here. http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/weblog/comments/1026/
Me? I dunno. I had no reason to doubt her story until now.
Anyway, post more of these if you have them. ;)

Thank you for your warm and kind words! I’ve received many questions regarding my photos and trips to Chernobyl. I'm sorry to say that I can’t send or publish higher resolution photos since I sold copyrights to most of my stuff to fine art gallery. But if somebody wants to take your own photos you can join to one of my future photo expeditions to Chernobyl!

Saw these pics on your site a while ago. I was laughing to myself the other day because I remember seeing the ferris wheel shot in my head while playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare

Excellent photos! That place with the faris wheel is the same place as in the Call of Duty 4 video game. Interesting to see real life photos of it.

Amazing work Arek. It is surreal how time now stands still for that area. A warning to everybody of how disastrous things can turn if we are not careful with our technology.

Excellent photos. You get the eerie feel of the pictures by looking at them. I always found those type of gas masks to be creepy.
