When a few of got together in early June, Scott arranged for a private boat charter for a few hours (do I hear the jingle of Gilligan's Island). We were fortuneate enough to drift past a GBH rookery. There were alot of them and no shortage of opportunities.

Neato! GBH shooting will never be the same after that rookery experience, eh? Too bad we couldn't stay there the whole day! :)

Nice shots! I love #2.

I can't wait to go back, and stay a while longer there. Hopefully Forrest has an anchor.

Great shots Sheldon!

That island looks to have the potential to be the greatest bird photography experience of a lifetime!

Hopefully Forrest has an anchor.
And an Image Stabilized boat, right? :-P;)

Nice shots Sheldon. There's a heron rookery fairly close to me as well but... no boat for me, and the shore is way too far for 400mm of reach.

It was our "Great Maine Osprey Shoot"

Do a search for GMOS in the nature share forums for more if your interested ;)

WOW! Yet another great series of shots. I think this is the first time I've ever seen them roosting in trees.

You'll have to come with us next time - you'll see about a hundred roosting in trees.

It was pretty darn cool...
