View Full Version : Nice long relaxing day.

It was dreary today and we got the chores done early so we had all day to goof off. I was able to play with my toys for most of the day and the kids helped at various times.
Jackson didn't want to pose or take pictures but he did like to get light readings. The problem is that he says the numbers in whatever order he wants so you have no idea what he is talking about.
I think the reading here was something like 65125F

Lex took a break from reading to look like she was taking a break from reading once I had the lights set up.

She did some sewing today and made a goofy hat out of some scrap cloth. I did a TFP shoot just before her bedtime. I shot some sample shots of her new hat and she posed for some head shot tests :)

Looks like you had a great day! :) Jackson cracks me up! He looks so "official" and important with the light meter duties.... and Lexie.... she's always so pretty and her expressions are just calm, for lack of a better word....
Your lighting looks nice... do you have 2 strip boxes?

Thank you, two rectangle soft boxes. She is a very quiet calm little girl. I hope she stays that way for the next decade :)

Lucky you... mine were sort of wild girls...they fueled each other's fire and fought like crazy.
My son was the calm one......until he got into high school ;)
Love the shots....I keep thinking about lights but these little ones are so active I think they would just collect dust;)

Mine sit in the closet most of the time. I like that I have them, but so far I haven't gotten enough mileage out of them. It's fun when you have a day stuck inside though.

Thank you. These are just for fun but I appreciate the feedback. No one in my house is a camera nerd but me. I don't get to geek it out much in real life :)

Thanks, Tim.I underestimate my 50mm 1.4 a lot. I only bumped saturation and vibrance +3 to help it out when I compressed it to a jpeg and was very happy with the colors on the cloth. I took some pictures of her earlier in the day in her room sewing the same type of cloth with my 35mm. It was different light but I think the 50 is on par with the color and contrast of the 35mm 1.4. At least in my hands anyway.

Don't count on it - Haha!
As a father of 2 daughters, now full grown with families of their own. Been there - done that!

I make sure to enjoy every second of her at this age and super sweet. I know what's coming in a year or two...

Sam...funny thing, my 50mm f/1.4 usually gets very little use, but a little while ago, I decided to use it, and I was so pleasantly surprised by the results. I need to stop neglecting it so much!

I haven't seen you post anything lately, Tim. Go take some shots with your 50mm this week and share with us :D

Great shots Sam. Now that she is sewing it will be easier for you to get her to model for you again as she will want to show off her creations.

Thank you. She has been pretty willing to model for me lately. I didn't do much in the way of photography last year and I think she missed our walks and little shooting sessions. Her brother hates to be in pictures so that is one of the things her and I do together.
Grocery Shopping is the another
