Heard about this place years ago, just now got around to seeing it. Located on Route 165, NW of Colorado City, CO, it is one amazing construction project. The original owner/builder died, but the project was carried on by his son. Some say it has been under construction for as long as 40 years. Regardless, it is solidly built of steel and stone, with flying buttresses for added support. The Great Room must be 40' by 75' with a full-length skylight. Nothing ever gets finished because the builder constantly gets ideas for new features, works on them a while, then gets another idea. No admission charge, but they ask for donations.

I'd never heard of this, now I gotta go see. The closest I've ever felt to myst was visiting the Starr Kemp sculpture gallery (on the lawn of his house!) - http://www.starrkempf.com/

Where would the world be without eccentrics! Probably the English would be most qualified to answer that question David! Aren't you glad that you're from upcountry? :D:D:D
Interesting building & pictures!

Frank I think we all have out share of them - I was actually thinking about Dali when I wrote that and his house in Spain....
