does opening and closing a jPeg(compressed) file cause any loses , or is it when you save to file these file become corrupted (loss of pixals).

Simply opening and closing Jpegs' is OK. Its when you save them again that the quality deteriorates :)

Also depends on the settings you have picked in your pix software - how much .jpg does compress = how fast the images will get worse. Do not have .jpg as your archival pix. Keep the orig. .jpg (exif data there) along with another copy you make as soon as you realize it is a "keeper." Make the other a .tif or .png or .jp2 I put them both in the same folder and try not to touch the orig. .jpg

They don't deteriorate as fast as some people think. If you edit a reasonable times then you don't have anything to worry about.

Have CanonZoomBrowser EX, trying to reverse the image for printing (so words won't come out backwards for an iron-on transfer. I found a site that instructed me to right click on image, but then I lost the site and right clicking doesn't work.
