Their stripping of EXIF data limits the utility of anything on flickr.

place them on their tummy and then
use pillow to prop up on their elbows and head keep hands crossed or free on top.
or with arms and hands in front of pillow (hanging down) and playing with anything.
use flash fill if not enough light in room or get near sun lit window.

get the letters to spell one, let them play with the "o" and put the others to the right to spell it(maybe sitting on a bench, ladder, or something fun with the "ne" on the ground, get creative, have a number 1, you can get these at hobby lobby and paint them, i like to use the 3D ones.

If you don't mind the mess, you could have them just in a diaper eating cake :D

just simple props that they have never seen before really interest them, or those huge lollipops are lots of fun :) I have a lot of 1yr shots on my flickr acct, if you wanna look you're more than welcome!

I don't think you should need EXIF to get session ideas

Agreed, but it's nice to have an idea of aperture and shutter that produced the pictured result.

EXIF isn't going to really help you set up a shoot if you don't have the lighting setup or the same conditions the original photographer had. It's a nice to see kind of thing but not neccesary.
Also, FYI, Flickr does allow you to view EXIF. Some people have it block but on most pics there's a link in the right column towards the bottom that says "More Properties". There you go...

Yeah, i have never heard about flickr stripping exif. Actually, they show alot of information.
As said, you can choose to hide it. But i think that some people strip their exif in photoshop when editing and copy/pasting..
