Another shot of my wife. I was testing out my Sigma 55-200 DC and made her pose for some shots. Let me know what you think.

This is a nice photograph of a very pretty woman. My personal suggestion would be to crop bottom as the inclusion of her clevage draws the eye from her beautiful eyes and face. (just my opinion)

That's exactly my initial thought when I saw the image :D
Also, her arms are held at a position that's a bit awkward ... if you crop that picture to be square, it will be a *great* picture.
Love the tight crop of her hair.
Best regards,
Andy

Nice portrait, but I agree with the other posters. Personally I want the focal point of the image to be her eyes and not her cleavage. As it stands now I'm torn between two focal points.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll recrop and repost.

Ok, here it is recropped. Not the best cropping job as I was kind of rushed. I probably should have cropped tighter on the left and maybe a bit more on the bottom, but you get the idea.

I agree, I like number two. Would also be nice to see if you can work in a hand up around the face. Like the left hand on the right side of the face.
Just my thoughts.

Thanks for all the feedback and help!! I'm still learning about all of this, especially with portraits.
pyterps/Dave, I'll take that into consideration for the next shoot. I didn't really think this one through to much, but I'm learning a lot about what to do better next time.

I like this picture. Naturally beautiful. If I may make one suggestion, I would like to see this picture with her teeth whitened. Some people may disagree with me, stating that this is how the subject looks and you shouldn't photoshop body enhancements. I've done it with pictures of my kids and it makes a difference. I think the picture could stand some USM too.

Very beautiful woman. 2nd post is wonderful. Really ldraws all the attention to where it should be....her natural beauty and sparkling eyes. I agree that it could use a bit of USM but leave the teeth as is. Very nice.

I'm still learning how to use USM. Seems I can never get it to look right. It may be my monitor, as I did most of this editing on a laptop, but it seems that I can't get it right. Any suggestions on the best way to get the best look from USM?

Great pic, particularly the crop. Maybe try some level or saturation adjustment to give a little more "color" to her face, it seems a bit "washed-out". Very lovely woman! You're a lucky man.

Kenyyc - I agree with pumping the sat up too. This picture has the potential to be a great desk pic. As far as usm is concerned, try 100%, .8 radius, 0-4 levels. Picure is a little noisey
