Need a cool lens/filter to experiment with during next shoot

I am heading to Cape Cod , MA, again in July and will have a week in the sun to shoot. I am wondering if anyone has any cool lens/filters that are fun to play with. I will be doing some sunset, sky, and landscape shots.

I would love to get some rich skys because my Digital Rebel seems to wash them out.

Sounds like a job for the circular polariser! :)

You could get a half-color blue or gray filter. but I think you'd find more general use out of the CP filter.

That polarizor idea is great. I looked it up and it solves the exact problem I have.
