Very interesting expressions on these kids faces... Great!
Did you turn up the saturation (a bit too high...)? That red is very red. Shame the (marquee?) support is not straight - but the girl is - so no straightening needed but it is slightly distracting.

It looks like a Norman Rockwell:)

It sure does.
To the OP: I've seen that lake shot of yours from Phillipines. Any chance that you might make this into a 'Norman Rockwell' painting?
Also,
it could be just my monitors, but the dress and skin tones appear too red. If someone else can comment on this matter, it would help.

I agree the red could do with being toned down just a touch, but otherwise a lovely shot.

Great shot and editing. Very Rockwellian. Please share your process?

I like the image for what it represents but the skin tone is red, red, red!!! If you are going to saturate a color relating to skin tone IMO it will be beneficial to use a mask to isolate people for their own PP.

Man, that dress did get over-saturated. Of all of the issues (sharpening, saturation, etc.)that I feel could/can be made better in this image I'm not sure I agree with the "red, red, red !!!" in the faces as jetcode pointed out. The temperature was in the 90's & the little blond girl on the far left is and was very red-faced. Anyway, thanks everyone for your input and advice. Jeff

Jeff I suspect you use a calibrated monitor? Every kids face, legs, and arms appears to be biased to red on my calibrated monitor.

OK.

I agree with Jetcode - even on my uncalibrated (but otherwise pretty accurate) monitor it is all a bit too reddish. That's why I earlier asked about the saturation.

Mine are calibrated, but just wanted to know if I had calibrated them correctly. Thanks for the validation, JC.
@Jeff,
I know how you feel: Since you are the one amongst us here who actually took the picture you know exactly how you felt as you pressed the shutter -- the 90 degree heat, the humidity, the noise, perhaps the smell of popcorn or candyfloss from the fairground -- I've ran into disagreements over some of the shots I've posted here simply because I felt strongly that some elements of the shots had to be kept to maintain the experience of particular time and place at the time the picture was taken despite valid critiques given by helpful members here. Only you can make the call whether to accommodate critiques or not. Do what your heart/instinct tells you to do. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I agree that it is over-saturated. Apparently it's too red as well. Jeff

Jeff I just loaded your image into my computer and the redness in the skin disappears. Something is going on in the conversion to .jpg. Is your source image sRGB?

If you went that far with PP, why not try and create a painting effect?

I may do that sometime. Thanks.
