PSE3 has taken over - help!

I'm running a PC with XP operating system and recently installed PS Elements 3. One annoying thing is that now it takes over when I want to open any image file. In the past I could use Windows Picture Manager for a quik and easy open of an email attached image file, but no more. Now E3 butts in, overrides Picture Manager, and opens the image files after waiting for all of its components to load first.

I tried to change this by resetting preferences, but couldn't find what I needed to change this behavior. Did I miss something in Preferences, or is there another easy workaround? Thanks for any help.

In Windows Explorer, right click on the file and select "Open With", then select "Choose Program", From this window, Select the program you want to open the image with, and check "Always Use this program..."

open up My Computer and go to Tools...Folder Options. Then open the File Types tab. Find the extensions (jpg, etc.) and change the progarm they open with.
