I happen to have an old monitor at home, and I end up with horizontal scrolling. If you can change the width in the stylesheet that would help.

I'm on my Mac today and am not seeing any issue with a horizontal scroll. I like the home page, a good mix of images and text.

Too wide for 1024x768 not that there seems to be content to require it. If I centre the site in my browser it looks fine.

Which browser? OS? I'll check later on my pc but no horizontal scrollbar on Safari at 1024 but is best to drop the size a few pixels if it needs it in other browsers.

Firefox in Ubuntu 9.10, looks much the same in Konqueror as well. There feels to be too much spare white space at the top for me.

The size of the banner and image is 950 pixles width... do you guys 900 width should do it? i changed my screen resolution to 1024 pixles and there was just a little bit of scrolling to do.

I'm using a windows PC with 22" widescreen monitor.

on a 1024x resolution monitor you have to scroll to the sides? or do you have to also scroll down?

yes there is some white at the top, that can easily be removed, also I can remove all the feeds at the bottom which I haven't got around to doing yet.

thanks for the input.

On your CSS, change 1080px to something smaller, maybe 1000px or try '100%':

.homepage #bodyWrapper, #homepage
{width: 1080px !important; padding: 0 !important; }

I'm on my Win 7 - IE 8 machine today and definitely see the scrolling the others mentioned that I wasn't seeing in Safari on my Mac.

Don't add the width 1080px, what Hikin Mike is telling you to do is replace it with something smaller like 980px.

I guess I didn't make very clear. Sometimes my brain goes south.....

what exactly will it do If i input 980px? yesterday when i pasted that code and replace 1080 and then changed to 1000 i saw no change on both.

Unless I have to remove something else first, thanks for the help.

You shouldn't have to copy/paste the code, it should already be there. Just change the '1080px' to something smaller.

It should be under your 'Advance Site-wide Customizations'.

Thanks for the help Hikin Mike.

It is currently set at 980px (originally was 1080px)

if anyone is using a 1024x resolution screen let me know if it's displaying fine! thanks

You're quite welcome. I'm one of those 'old' monitors with a 1024 x 768 and it looks fine now. :D

It isn't just those with "old monitors" who live a narrower site. I'm sitting at a 23" widescreen and I have open 6 applications. My browser windows lives on the right side of the monitor taking up aproximately 940px because that is wide enough for most sites and still leaves me enough working room on the other side.

"exotics" is spelled wrong in one of your gallery titles

I have to admit I like the very simplistic approach to the site. I could easily find your picture gallery and getting back from browsing the pics was also easy. The site is very responsive click-wise, I wonder if it is possible to do a bit of fading-in instead of launching everything directly. May give a better browser experience.

thanks for the input it's good to know... I'll be adding a lot more content and more links including porfilio (best pictures) when i get some time soon.

for now I'm just trying to establish the main look then i can play around to make it more fancy.

I would think that the URL and e-mails at the top should be clickable links.
