comments please

I usually do animal photos, but sometimes I like storms and lightning. I posted these in the landscape section and nobody comented on them. You all usually give your opinion, so please tell me what you think. They were taken in The Bahamas this week. Thanks :)

Love the pics! Beautiful colors, I love the layer of clouds in the first one, the blue sky beyond and the color of the ocean. And the second..I've always loved pictures of lightning and this is a good one! The lighting is eerily wonderful, I love how dark it is on the right and the purple sky, color of the rocks, etc... Would be nice to see these larger! I can't understand why no one commented on these!!!

I like them both. It's hard to beat the sea colors, but the lightning shot is compelling. Where is the light on the rock in foreground coming from?

Thank you all very much. The light in the foreground on the rock is from the bar area believe it or not. It was very dim, and turned out perfect. It wasn't planned. I was shooting the lightning in between drinks:) The cloud almost looked like a mushroom, and very desrtuctive. Thankfully it didn't come ashore.

:) Yeah! The people at the bar said I looked like a Japanese tourist. If I wasn't diving, I was taking pictures. The drinks were all inclusive, and you basically help yourself to whatever you want. It was great. BTW, That lightning pic was a 25 sec exposure @ F7.1, 800 ISO, 18mm.
