I felt the icy fingers of winter on my spine so I decided to change my perspective for a little while with a visit to the local Botanical Gardens.
It's amazing what a little reprieve from the cold and snow can do to uplift ones outlook.

Hey Pat, nice shots. I did the same thing a few weeks ago, even bought a light tent to play with. Great way to shoot, as it's impossible to take a badly exposed shot in a tent. :)

Hi Mitch, yeah the weather has been non-conducive to go looking for Birds, so I figured the Botanical Gardens would be a good place to search out some pretty flora.
The gardens is putting on an Orchid show in February, so i thought I'd get some early shots and put them up here.
As I won't be going to Florida this year I think it's appropriate to use the gardens as my daily get away from the gloom of this Buffalo, winter.

Pat, you might want to try catching some smoke shots. I have a thread a few lines down that shows some and describes how to get them. They can be really beautiful and it's pretty easy to do. :)

This last Flower is not an Orchid, and I forgot its name. :(

I really like that white one. Looks like a spider sitting inside.

Yeah, that's one of my favorites also, it's called a Moth Orchid if memory serves me right.
Thanks for taking a look, Mitch.
