I have a spot that keeps appearing on my images, usually best seen on a blue sky. I have been unable to tracewhat is causing this. Can anyone help please. Thanks.

It'll probably be dust on the CMOS.
Clone it out if it's not too bad or clean if it is or bugs you.
Either use a blower or for stubborn dust bunnies the Copperhill method or something similar.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your help. I think I'll keep cloning at the moment.

David,
If it's the odd spot or two I tend to clone.
If I get more spots I will clean. I try with the blower first but usually I end up cleaning.
I know cleaning sounds a bit daunting but it's quite straight forward and once you've done it you'll wonder what you were worried about.
I use Sensor Swab and Eclipse Cleaning Fluid which I bought from Wharehouseexpress.com ( small plug for them ).

I've had my DSLR for a year now and frequently get dust on the sensor. A couple of blasts of air from my rocket blower have always sorted it out for me.
