Hello brothers and sisters:
I have about 200+ Raw pictures and I want convert them to jpeg quick. I don't want to go through each of them and convert it manually. Is there any way to do this in batch? Fast?
Thank you all.

What software do you use? The crappy Canon stuff, or CS/CS2, etc?

If you have PS CS or CS2 just create an action to convert your RAWS and save as jpegs. Once the action is created you can batch process or even easier yet set up a droplet using that action and you won't even need to open PS ...
If you are using the Canon software you can batch convert to jpeg very easily. The method depends if you are using DPP or the FileViewer utility..

RSE will also do it, & it lets you copy settings from one to the other pics first.

In fact I reccommend saving actions for sharpening, compression, color profiles - basically things you do after RAW conversion. Open a file in ACR and make your changes. Click the arrow next to Settings, and choose Save Settings. Give it a meaningful name, and Save. Now open all of the files in ACR, I use Bridge, and drag a multiple image selection into PS. Once ACR is done loading and creating the previews, click the Select All button in the upper left. Now go to the Settings pull-down. Your saved setting should be in the list. If it isn't, click the arrow and choose Load Settings and browse to the location you saved them. Now those settings will be applied to all the RAW files you opened in ACR. You can go through and tweak any, if necessary. Now make sure that you've selected all again, click Save. A dialog box will appear, and you can redirect the images to a new folder, rename them, choose file type, color space, and bit depth. I am not sure how to do this in DPP or ZoomBrowser. Maybe someone that knows can add it to the thread.

Since use most likely have DPP:
select one picture find your choice of WB if desire and brightness.
right click the picture save recipe.
select all of the other pictures right click apply recipe.
click on the batch radio button.
select save folder you want to save to.
select finish file type.
the rest should be self explanatory

Even easier in CS2 is select all the files in the bridge, choose "open in camera raw" (or open in bridge perhaps), hit select all, hit save, and it does it all within bridge. No action required.

True Fellas, Bridge in CS2 does an excellent job of streamlineing basic RAW batch conversion, but thats all you get is a converted file. However if you only have PS7 or PSCS you'll have to create an Action. By using an Action and Droplet you can also add many other post processing steps such as, meta data changes, copyright notice, and multi layer adjustments, as well as the batch conversion.

I saw your other post on droplets, great stuff. I'm generally not a "lumper" when it comes to PP tasks. But there are situations where I have several of the same photo (like the entire T-ball team's at bats) and droplets are invaluable for this.

I too must say that RAW Shooters Essentials is an awesome product. It is Free and it is really nice to work with. The sorting features work really well and the process is easy to understand. If you don't have PS CS2 I suggest you download RSE.....
