Not now. When I had them they were current models. :D:D
Mt first car was a '53 Olds 98 bought in 1957. Pic below. 4" bore made it sound really nice. Probably why I'm a Mopar guy now.
'63 Corvair Spyder (turbocharged) convertible.
'65 Cuda 273.
'69 Cuda Formula "S", 383, 4-speed. Discs. Did an honest 141mph out of the showroom. I drove that one for 187,000 miles. I was racing a Triumph in G-Production then, & it made a great tow car.
Nothing "interesting" since then. ;)

When I was 16 I baught a 1976 Grand Prix, first car and I spent so many hours on it!! Completely gutted the whole car, re-did the interior, custom paint, gold cregor gold rims, emron black paint job, and re-did the motor ( 400 big block, solid liftor cam,over-sized pistons, aluminum intake, holley carb etc. etc. All this was back in early 1980's at a cost of over $13,000 on a $1600 car!
Later on I got a 1976 MGB and re-did it, and later a 1980 Corvette!!
Today I drive a 2002 Dodge Caravan....Life is cruel.....LOL

:D Last year I went from a Cherokee to a Malibu! Problem is, I'm liking it, which I didn't expect! ;)
It's amazing what some of those cars are selling for now. You could easily get more than the money you spent out of the Grand Prix. If we'd only known!

Love the look of these. Reminds me of American Graffitti. :D
From the sounds of what you've described, He NEEDS those big meats on the back. ;)

I saw that American Graffitti car at the auto show last year & it was my favorite. Paint chips, scuffed tires & all! It was about the only car there that had a purpose beyond being a "Trailer Queen"! Can you believe chromed brake rotors on some of those cars? There probably weren't any guts in the engines to drive them off the trailer 'cause someone might step on the brakes & scuff the rotors! I probably won't go next year.
<end of rant> ;)
BTW Dan, your GP sounded like a fun car! The :D was for the Dodge Caravan. ;)
Bruce, more are coming! (No Hemis for a while, though.)

Chrome ROTORS? That's just WRONG! This reminds me of a story that an aquaintance told me. He (Al) drives a 39 Chevy that He shows as well. Al shows up at a local coffee shop for breakfast all the time, and most of the time He's in His 39.
It's well known that one of His main competition at the shows, who will remain nameless here, ALWAYS trailers His car to and from ALL shows. He runs so close with Al, that one week Al will place over this guy, and the next week they'll be switched.
At one car show Al placed a sign in front of His car that read; If you see this car on a trailer, dial 911, because it's STOLEN! ;) I'm thinking the other guy didn't see the humor in this.

To the last, & one of the nicest cars I shot last year, "TAPDOUT" (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=47414&highlight=%2740+ford), a '40 Ford Deluxe Coupe, I added the comment, "This is no trailer queen! He put 50,000 miles on it in the last 10 years, and the original paint job still looks immaculate."
All of these guys are like that. No one comes to a meet with a car on the trailer.
(I hear that he's flamed it. I may shoot him when I see him!) ;)
I'll have to post my pic of the "North Woodward Timing Association" for you. There are a LOT of those around! ;)

I remember this one. It absolutely BOGGLES my mind as to why someone would build a really neat car, and then NOT drive it? This is one of the things I like about an event in Henderson called "SUPER RUN". It's a car show and a cruise at the same time. Sure, some people still trailer their car out, but MOST come for the cruise up and down Water ST. Some of these folks are not afraid of hitting the gas pedal here and there, so you get a pretty good idea of how they run/sound. :D

...so you get a pretty good idea of how they run/sound. There are times I wish we had a sound capability on these cams. But then we'd have to worry about dB readings, too! ;-)

I think that the guys coming to the shows here have learned to leave their alarms off. I've only heard 2 go off in the last few weeks! It was a lot more fun last year when a hemi rumbled down the street & about a dozen started applauding! :D:D:D
