Hey Guys.

OK so after my last thread a while back about getting my self up there on the ranks of google I have done alot to my site from what I learnt.

* Metatags
* A blog
* More content on my home page
* Registered to numerous classified websites. (Yell etc etc)

Now my question is, what next. What should I make my next aim to work towards getting myself on the front page of google.

Thanks
Gary

Maybe try social media? Facebook, Flickr, etc?

Do you have RSS feeds?

Blogging?

Open an AdWords account?

Hi Gary - just looked at your site. It loads quite fast and the readability isn't too bad. I don't mean to be critical but your first sentence almost screams "I'm just starting in weddings RIGHT NOW and would love to do yours." Perhaps you may want to word it a bit differently?

Also your per print and postage pricing structure seems a little bit complicated. When you say 10 photos for L100, I don't mean to sound dense but is that ten different photos, or ten all from the same file.

We're adding the blog button now to my website, but my blog is still online.

How many keywords in my metatags would you suggest?

I wouldn't worry too much about metadata keywords.

Is that your site on your sig? IMO way to much text for a photographers website on the front page...

I'll add that the site fails epically in IE6, navigation doesn't show. At least I'm assuming there's meant to be navigation in the blank space between the title and content. While it's old it's still the 4th most used browser accounting for 10% of the market.

I think title should be "Southend on Sea, Essex Wedding Photographer", not the other way around. Most important terms go first. Put your location in the title of each page. Have a blog so google sees the website's updated regularly. Your web host seems slow too, but maybe it's just because it's UK, alertra.com 's UK service gets to it in 200ms but the US servers take up to 2s. My host's in the US and is really, really fast (hostgator).

The website design is old and tired, i'd get yourself a good web designer or find a modern template.

I'd also correct the grammar of the testimonials on the home page, even though they're quotes I always like good English.

get google analytics, it's free.

I am very happy with photoshelter and highly recommend it. $300/yearly, 9 different templates, 35gb of storage, SEO friendly, fast to load, E-commerce ready, modern design, etc.

Go to photoshelter.com for more info or just check out my website for a sample.

Thanks for spotting this. Working on this now.
If you click where the nav bar should be, on all other pages it works? :confused:

No idea now, at home. Now I can see the buttons it's a bad look, moreso the cyan links that drop down beneath the Gallery and float over the text beneath. When I try to click "Bands/Music" for the gallery it closes the drop down. I can see what you are aiming for but it kinda looks rather amateurish.

This is now sorted, thanks for spotting it!

Fix your menus. If I go to Gallery, I can't click on the last two items.
