Best Job Sites

Hi Does anyone from the New York area know of any good sites that advertise photography assistant jobs. I'm trying to find a studio that will give me the opportunity to learn the workings of studio photography. I've been looking on Craigslist but most of the job listings are for students or just dodgy guys looking for female assistants to stroke their ego.

Look on the internet and find some local photographers that you would like to assist. Then call or e-mail them and ask. Also if you look for photographer meet ups then go you might be able to get an assisting gig.

Thanks Bumgardnern for the advice. I have tried quite a few photographers like you suggested already. Its though in NY as they already have people that they know and when you don't have a direct contact your almost last in the line. I will keep searching :)

As far as metups you mean photography groups right. I haven't tried that approach as I need to research some NY groups. Maybe someone out there from NY can suggest some good ones.
