I'm looking for a new bag that will carry/store all my gear. I'm debating between the Tamrac Expedition 6x and the 7x.....

I want something big enough that will hold everything but not something that will be too huge. I've looked through the reviews but would like to hear form those who may have been debating the same two bags.

I would like to fit the following:

2 DSLRs
EF-S 10-22
EF 24-70
EF70-200
3 Primes
2 Flash
and some other odds and ends. I'm thinking I would fit everything except for 1 flash into the 6x. I don't plan on ever carrying or owning more than that.

Thanks for the help.

You are definitely not going to be able to fit all those in the 6x. If you put the flashes in the front pouch and your primes are small, then you might be able to get the rest inside the backpack.

Do you own either? I'm not being sinical just curious if you have one and the photos on the Tamrac website are misleading. From what is shown I should be able to fit everthing mentioned above except for 1 flash.

Any other simmilar packs anyone can recommend?

I have the Expedition 5 which barely holds all of my gear. Looking at your gear list, and Tamracs site, I don't really think you'd get it all squeezed in to the Expedition 6. I'd look at the 7 as a minimum.

I have the Expedition 6x (and the 5, but not the 7). I can try to see how many of the items you have listed will fit into it and take a snapshot of it for you. Who knows. Maybe with some creative organizing, I might be able to fit all those items in the bag. :)

The 7X. The 6X has a thin waist belt, and for that amount of equipment, the wide belt of the 7X is much better. The wide belt is the reason to go with the 7X. It will take the weight off your shoulders.

I don't think the 6 will fit your gear. I have the 6 and I have a 7D gripped with the 70-200 2.8 IS attached,100-400,17-55,24-105, 10-22,and the 580 flash. It is stuffed with very little spare room and it is heavy. I use it to store my gear or to transport all my stuff for vacations but I wouldn't want to carry this pack around. When I go out I put Whatever I need into a smaller bag.The 7 should fit your stuff and it also has a much better waist strap.

x2 on the 7x for the same reasons.

For me, the thicker wider padded waist belt of the 7x makes all the difference in comfort when wearing this type of pack, especially when carrying more weight for longer distances. I also own a 5x and would rather carry my 7x when packing 25 pounds than carry my 5x with 15 pounds when walking longer distances.

Because the wider belt of the 7X makes it better, you can also get the 5X or 6X and add these belt pads. (http://www.tactical.com/belt-pads.html?gclid=COrT1by7qZ8CFcx25QodWyPT0g)
