Really nice color balance and sharpness for a high school gym.

a little bit of noise reduction and bringing out lighter colors was all i did

Very nice. I just got an 85/f1.8 to try to get some shots. Seems like we play in a lot of dark gyms. It's a lot more fun to take pictures when you see results. I like the angle you shot #2 from.

i sit to the left of the goal for all my shots except the coach. then you have to get more of r the top behind the players in the huddle :D

IMO....they look a bit under exposed and some of your horizons are off. I think ISO 1600 probably just isn't enough for shooting in gyms without strobes. Our home gym has relatively good lighting but I still have to shoot around ISO 4000 because the stands and walls are dark blue.

I like the action but I think #2 would be better with the ball in the picture.

Watch your horizons and keep shooting.

#1 - Love the symmetry of this shot. The exposure is perfect for my tastes, and the noise reduction smooths everything out to nice effect. The refs expression is funny and you even have a fellow photog in the background. What's not to like?

#2 - First of all, this player has a great looking follow-through, looks like the end of a textbook jump shot :) Not crazy about his arm blocking his face though.

#3 - Nice sportrait of "five on five" Like it.

#4 - A little too tight in the huddle.

#5 - I would like it a lot better without the shadow on his face. Great shot of #32 d'ing up though.
