I would like a Lowepro that fits my 500D, and 3-4 lenses. I have an external flashgun and am looking into a 55-250 and a 60mm f/2.8 Macro IS USM. Any style is fine.

check out fastpack 200 or fastpack 250 if you will be bringing your laptop

If you don't need to carry a laptop, I highly recommend the flipside series.

The Stealth Reporter series. Pro street bags, extremely well made. Review. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=810909)

The LowePro SlingShot sling bags are worth a look too. I have the 200 model, and I find it an excellent bag to carry all my gear.

If you're all for the safety, you should consider a flipside 400 AW. I had the 300 and just switched to 400. Very nice bag.

flipside 200 is small --> targeted towards consumers who purchase probably a lens and a flash and a prime lens. if you are a serious photographer, you will find yourself cramped for space.

flipside 300 is jussst the right size and value for the product. can hold a 5d, 70-200 2.8 is, external flash, accessories, and 2 small lenses (85mm 1.8 and a 50mm 1.4)

flipside 400 is meant if you shoot with two cameras and carry the above lenses + a few more lenses. recommended.

I have owned the 200,300,400. I sold the 300 and kept the other two. I like the small 200 just for short day trips don't need much gear. The 400 for everything i need its awesome.

Have any of you looked at the Pro Runner series? I will be going on a 10 day trip to Europe and don't want to carry everything I have but will be carrying my 40D, 70-200 -2.8L, 10-24mm and a 17-85mm plus 580EXII flash. I have narrowed it down to the Fastback 200, Pro Runner 200 or 300 AW and the sling shot 200 or 300 AW. Thanks everyone.

I ordered the Flipside 400AW off ebay. However they LOST my package.. so I'm anxious to finally get it in my hands.. the Flipside 300 is too small for me.

I'll be fitting this into the bag
Canon T1i/500D + BG-E5 Grip
Canon 40D
Canon 50 F1.8 II
Canon 18-200 F4.5-5.6
Tokin 12-24 F4
Sigma 18-50 F2.8
Canon 430EX
6x4AA Batteries
3 Chargers
Lens caps
Memory cards

I just swapped out my Slingshot 200 for a Flipside 300 instead. Fits around the same amount but the Flipside is WAY more comfortable to carry compared to the Slingshot. Function wise, they both can switch lenses without putting the bag on the ground which is a plus. IMO I will suggest the Flipside if you don't need to carry a laptop. The extra security from the Flipside design is also very good to have.

couldnt agree more. all of my bags would be stealth reporter if i could.

sling bags are a great concept for particular uses, but i HATE having my thousands of dollars in gear behind me where I cant see it. i'm a trained sleight of hand artist with experience in theatrical put/pickpocketing, and I know how easy it is for a thief to get in and out of backpacks without you blinking an eye.

again, all bags have their place, but you wont regret the versatility that comes with the stealth series.

oh, and make sure you base your prices on those at B&H, not the suggested prices at lowepro.

I have a Lowepro Pro Runner 200 AW, along with a Tamrac Expedition 5X.
The Tamrac is a great backpack, but I wanted an less bulky case to travel Europe with. My Pro Runner is loaded with 400D with grip and a 17-40 attached, 70-200, 430EX II, and a 50MM. It's light and should be a good traveler case.
