Ok, here are a few I did of my daughter strobist style. She's actually just sitting on a black office computer chair...haha Let me know what you think about these. If you want the strobist info I'd be happy to provide it.

I know technically speaking the flare is a big no no in some people's eyes but the sun was coming through the window behind her bouncing of the chair. I thought it looked kinda cool though, what do you guys think??

I'm not too sure how to crop this or if I want to crop this one. If I crop out her shirt up top it looks kinda just like her arms are coming from no where. I'm looking for some suggestions here too.

I wish there was a resizing options on Flickr that was larger than 500 and smaller than 1024!

I like all the shots. The first one is classic. Second one, flare is cool. No such thing as "no-no". All rules can bend and break...at times...
The last, I think that crop will work for the image. It's just tough to make the call. I just had a recent shoot and it was hard to say. But looking at yours, I can say this image works (well for me anyways). Like the contrast and shadows in your last shot as well.

Feel free to share your strobist info!

Oh these turned out really good. The firs is my favorite and the flare on the second works. I know what you mean about the crop on the hands and feet one. I think you coud leave it as is, maybe try in b&w and a vignette???? All of them would look super cute together in a series. Do you mind sharing the strobist info? And is that a black fabric placed over the chair or just the chair itself?

Thanks for the feedback... The first one is my favorite as well I just couldn't decide if I liked the last 2 or not!

Strobist: 430EX II 1/64 power camera right into shoot through umbrella. Triggered with Cactus V4s. Shot with the 50mm f1.8 @ 1/250, f2.8

Oh, and it was just the chair...no fabric or anything. I burned out the highlights a bit in photoshop but that's about it.

I'd agree with Andy on all parts.

You did good on these. The only thing I would add to it, is maybe a small kicker light on rear. I think this would really make the subject pop out from the BG more. Giving it more depth.

But, none the less ... these are great.

Thanks grimlock. I agree about the kicker. Right now I only own one light though...I forgot to mention I also used a white foam board camera left to bounce the light back.
