David's black '38 Plymouth. The paint looks like black ice. Notice the steps for the rumble seat! This was the nicest car I saw last night, & someday I hope to be able to get it in the "right" light! ;)

426 Hemi; BDS supercharger with fuel injection; NASCAR rods; 8:1 pistons, competition cam; balanced & blue printed; Lenco Jetco 4 speed planetary clutchless transmission; 3.25 Ford 9" read end, & air suspension.

Those are great Frank. I sure wish the weather would be nicer down here, so I can get some car show shots too. I also like the "38" . . . . very nice!

VERY nice Frank. A 426 Hemi seems like an awfully large engine to fit between those frame rails. I'm sure the frame has been reinforced. ;)

Very nice car, awesome paint job ... and your shots do it justice :D

Well done!

Only thing that doesn't really fit for me are the wheel rims ... although I LOVE a nice HEMI engine, I'm also a sucker for vintage cars in near original state.

Best regards,
Andy

Thanks guys!
Good luck, John! We'll be waiting to see them. ;)

Andy, I like the ones in the original state, too. If you look close, you can see one in the left corner of the 3rd pic of the "Suicide Coupe!" thread I just started. 40 bhp! Thinking back to '69, I had more in one cylinder. :D:D Somehow I guess that while I like the stockers, I LIKE the Muscle cars a lot better. ;)

I'll bet that thing turns heads going down the street! I agree with Andy, the rims don't seem to fit.
What does "balanced and blueprinted" mean?

What does "balanced and blueprinted" mean?
Hi Curtis, "Balanced" when it comes to an automotive engine means that the rotating mass ie; crankshaft, connecting rods, and pistons are balanced as a unit. The pistons and rods are brought into exacting tolerances by shaving bits of metal off until they weigh exactly the same right down to grams. After this is done, they are assembled and balance is checked again. This saves unwanted vibration and friction, which in turn allows the engine to rev faster and to a higher RPM safely.
Blueprinted simply means to make sure that all dimensions of the engine are within spec of the original set of blueprints for that particular engine. You'd be amazed at how far off most brand new stock engines are. This too helps to ensure less vibration, and that reciprocating parts are functioning as they should. ;)
