I am looking into these 2 digital cameras, however, I am having trouble deciding which one I should purchase. I am running on about a $750 budget at the very most and am looking to get the most out of my money. I also need a lens that fits into that budget.
I plan to do sports photography, landscape photography, and anything else that comes along the way. Which one should I go with? It is very important to me that the camera is of good build quality. For sports the continuous shooting of the D60 seems to be much better, but AI servo seems to be an issue. Could somebody please help me out?

750 US or Canadian? Either way that isn't a lot of money for either of those cameras and a good lens. I would save up and get a good lens with it.

$750 US. I think I could get the body first without a lens and then save up some more and get the lens later. But aside from what, which is the better option?

The D60 only goes up to ISO 1000, while the 300D has 1600 natively, and 3200 with the firmware hack. This may be important to you for sports. The metering should be better on the D60, and the D60 is capable of 3fps with a larger buffer, while the 300D is limited to 2.5 fps, so if ISO isn't a large concern, the D60 would function better for sports. If sports really is your main thing, go with the D60. If you're saying sports because you may want to try doing sports photography but your not sure, I'd go with the 300D. The D60 will probably be cheaper. There's actually one for sale now in the Marketplace forums ($550).. here's the link.

Well theres not much point in buying just the body now and have to save up for the lens.. It will kill you have a digital SLR and no lens, I would personally wait and save up a bit more and get the 300D with the kit lens (for now)

Isn't $750.00 very close to the cost of a 350D?
Or even a used 10D?

Yeah, it is, but keep in mind I also need a lens. This is really tough. What about the D70? Seems like an excellent camera, similar to the EOS 350D.

I would buy a Canon 10D and EF 50mm 1.8 lens to start - I've seen 10D bodies sell in the $650 - $700 range and the 50mm for about $50 to $60. You could add a zoom later.
The 10D is a significantly better camera than the D60 and Drebel.

Does anybody know about the hack to make the Rebel into a 10D?

The hack ads some 10D-like features... but there are a few physical limitations that siftware can not overcome.
Check the "EOS Sticky" thread for a link to the hack info.

I love my Canon but the D70 does seem like a well priced offering at the moment. I have heard the kit lens is very good and has a great range. Worth checking out at least.
The 300D with hack is also very competitive and still very happy with mine.

I posted this on another thread - but I think that it applies here as well. The 300D has some significant advantages over the D60. The D60 in many ways is yesterdays technology and the 300D just by virtue of being a newer model has advantages.
D60 - Plastic shell 300D - Plastic shell
D60 - No EF-S 300D - EF-S Compatible
Same sensor size - Same cropping factor (1.6)
D60 - Older EXIF standard - 300D - new EXIF 2.2
D60 - Color space SRGB only - 300D - sRGB or Adobe RGB
D60 - adjustment of contrast, sharpness etc.. 3 steps - 300D - 5 steps
D60 - slow autofocus 300D - approximatly double the speed of the D60
D60 - poor low light AF performance - 300D - much improved and faster AF performance
D60 - 3 in-line AF points - 300D - 7 AF points - cross style
D60 - viewfinder coverage 95% - 300D 95%
D60 - shutter release lag time 240ms - 300D - 128ms
D60 - partial metering size 9.5% - 300D - 9%
D60 - evaluative metering zones - 35 - 300D - 35
D60 - ISO range 100-1000 - 300D - ISO range 100 - 1600
D60 - no white balance bracketing - 300D -white balance braketing
D60 - no internal wireless receiver - 300D - included internal wireless receiver
D60 - LCD = 114,000 pixels 2 brightness levels - 300D 118,000 pixels and 5 brightness levels
D60 - No DIGIC processing chip - 300D - DIGIC chip
D60 - no support for DirectPrint or PictBridge - 300D - support for both of these standards
D60 - no orientation sensor - 300D - included orientation sensor
Don't discount the 300D baby!
