Hi,
We all post when we receive poor service but I thought I'd share my experience with Sigma UK.
I have a Sigma DG530 Super falsh that I dropped last year and managed to put a small crack in the flash lens. Worked fine though and didn't affect it's use or IQ.
So I buy my new 50D and find the Sigma doesn't work and requires a firmware upgrade.
I contacted Sigma on Thursday and asked if they could replace the lens and upgrade the firmware, the price was suprisingly low and I posted it out knowing they would receive it on the Friday.
Monday I received a confirmation letter and written quote, contacted them and paid by credit card over the phone.
Tuesday had a phone call to say it was all sorted and I'd receive it back the next day.
Wednesday the Flash was delivered as good as new and working perfectly on my 50D.
Now that would be excellent service at any time of year but during that week the UK was experiencing the worst snow fall and continued cold spell for over 30 years. Schools were closed, public transport had stopped running and most of the road network was either closed or moving very slowly.
So well done to Sigma Imaging UK, good to now if I buy any more Sigma gear the back up is there if you need it.
Cheers
Lee
