What setting on the s45 is the best for auto pictures?

I just got my s45 yesterday...I have it on L and s but the pictures I took last night don't look right. What setting should I keep things set on? I want to keep it in auto mode. Thx.

I use the "P" it is virtually the same as the auto mode but allows better control, such as ISO.

i have also set it to Superfine to capture the best quality in jpg.

Just play around with the settings and take lots of photo's until you get the quality you are happy with.

you won't waste any film.
