WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK: PART 199 -Texture

Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is "Texture". As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for!


Here are the rules:

1. Shots need to be taken between sunrise Monday and sunset the following Sunday. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snap shots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!

2. Post your shots at any time during the week.

3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e.,embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. Close but no cigar. It's a close-up of a 9x9 pan of gluten-free brownies and a close-up of a folding chair with a fabric covered cushion. ;)

It really did John. I was quite pleased, last night, to come home to find my wife making the brownies :) We had some friends over so they went fast and since it was GF, she let me have the last one since she doesn't have the GF restriction. ;)

Rock Texture...

The weather here continues to be unseasonably warm.
Sunny :cool: and springlike.

It's so warm that yesterday, when I went for a walk, I found this guy:

I went back to look for him again today.
He wasn't there, but this milkweed was (and it was far less unnerving!).

YIKES Barbara.. He doesn't look poisonious however, just a good healthy little snake! Nice texture on him though! .. and I love the milk weed.

What is going on with the weather.. We've had 2 years worth of rain in 4 days. My pool is about to overflow and my roof has started to leak :shock: the end is nowhere in sight!

As for rock candy, this might be sending you to the dentist after a bite :eek:

Joayne, is that the inside of a rock? I can't think what those kinds of rocks are called at the moment. lol It looks a little dark on my work monitor.

What kind of snake is that, anyone know? It looks large but it probably wasn't? How big was it Barbara?

The snake is a garter snake, about 15 inches long. Harmless.
He was in a cemetery near my house.

About 2 yrs. ago in the Fall I found a baby garter snake in the same cemetery.
He was about 5 inches long and so cold that he never moved when I picked him up.
It was a sunny day, so I put him on the warm cement base of a headstone and walked away.
Now I wonder if this is the same snake.

And, about the weather ... sleet & snow for us tonight & tomorrow morning.
That will put an end to our Spring.:(

John, your rain makes me feel right at home as we haven't seen the sun here in forever :( My daughter asked me the other day why it was night when I got her up for school (it was 7am).

Correct, it is a section of fake leather on a serving tray my wife has. When I asked her if we had anything with an interesting texture she quickly came up with this.
